Burros Pin 5-1 Loss on Chicago
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Guillaume Moret, the Denver Burros defeated the Chicago Traders, 5-1. Moret was 1-1 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 for the Burros. The Burros improved their record to 69-68 with the win over Chicago.
David Wallace had a big 2-run home run for the Burros in the top of the fifth inning. With Denver leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from Skip Crawford and swatted a home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Burros ahead, 4-1.
In comments to the Denver Herald, Wallace admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
