|
The St. Louis Explorers defeated the Philadelphia Quakers, 5-4, in National Baseball League action at Corps of Discovery Stadium. St. Louis pitcher Marty Clark had a standout performance. St. Louis has won 3 straight, while Philadelphia has lost 6 in a row.
In the bottom of the 3rd, St. Louis took the lead on a 2-run single by Gary Parker. At the time, the Explorers were trailing 2-1, but Parker's hit with two outs against Philadelphia pitcher Manny Salinas put them in front, 3-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Clark.
