Emeralds Pull Out Late-Game Win, 3-2
|
Seattle and Twin Cities duked it out and the Emeralds came out victorious.
Twin Cities second baseman Steve Pavey had a good game, even if his team did not. The Northmen dropped a 3-2 decision to Seattle at Puget Field. Pavey was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. Seattle is now 79-57, Twin Cities 59-78.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Seattle shortstop Dennis England, facing Jeff Jordan, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Emeralds the 3-2 win.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said England.
