Dairymen Get Clutch Win Versus Denver
|
Milwaukee Municipal Stadium did not lack for drama.
The Milwaukee Dairymen faced a tough opponent in Denver pitcher Bob Langham, but found a way to pull out the victory at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Langham went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win puts Milwaukee at 56-81.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Milwaukee pinch hitter Barry Gunn, facing Marty Arnold, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Dairymen the 5-4 win.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Brandon Dudley, the Milwaukee manager.
