Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Emeralds
The Seattle Emeralds racked up a win at Puget Field, bumping off the Atlanta Generals, 6-4. Mike Gruber, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Seattle reliever Dooley Brewer, now 8-5. The loser was Bob Donahue. The Generals, at 55-82, have lost 4 in a row.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the tenth, with Seattle trailing 4-3, Johnny Anderson jumped on a first pitch curveball from Bob Donahue for a 3-run home run, sending the Emeralds to a walk-off win.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Gruber told the Seattle Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
