The Denver Burros defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 3-1, in National Baseball League action at Gates Crescent Park. Ron Roe pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Denver is now 92-50, 11½ games up in the National Baseball League Western Division.

Denver second baseman Billy Powers contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Burros ahead, 3-1.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Roe.
