Seagulls Get Past Baltimore for 1-0 Win
|
The San Francisco Seagulls got a stellar effort from pitcher Tim Stambaugh, helping San Francisco score a win over the visiting Baltimore Lords, 1-0. Chuck Porter, credited with the win, is now 9-7. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The Seagulls, at 75-64, have now won 4 straight.
Marv Haynes was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Seagulls left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Al Borie, the San Francisco manager.
