Crawford Superb Against San Diego
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the San Diego Captains as starter Skip Crawford shut them out, 1-0, at Union Field. The Chicago pitcher struck out 4 and walked 2 while allowing 5 hits.

"Crawford was good but he wasn't flawless," San Diego manager Joe Mack said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Chicago, but this is on us."

Up to now Crawford has compiled an ERA of 2.37 with a 16-14 mark over 34 starts. He has 142 strikeouts in 277.2 innings and has held opponents to a .224 batting average.
