|
A good performance from right fielder Oscar Gonzalez helped the Brooklyn Bluebirds defeat the Pittsburgh Industrials, 5-4. Gonzalez was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Bluebirds. Brooklyn is 71-69 and Pittsburgh, with the loss, 78-63.
Ernie White was 1-4 for Brooklyn. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gene Steinhauer. It was his 44th RBI of the season.
