Knickerbockers Need Extra Innings to Top Packers, 5-4
Due in part to right fielder Bob Underwood, the New York Knickerbockers chopped down the Cincinnati Packers, 5-4, in 12 innings. Underwood was 2-6 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. New York is now 69-72, while Cincinnati is 61-79.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Underwood hit a fastball from Alan Haney for a solo home run. The Knickerbockers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Bob was ready to go. Big day for him," said New York manager Sean Kelly.
