Atlanta Earns 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Atlanta Generals and the Toronto Hurons, Bill Davis, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in innings pitched with 213.1, was the difference-maker. The Atlanta right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The 5th-place Hurons dropped to 66-75.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Roberto Palacios came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Dave Hamilton, he hit a 1-0 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Atlanta on top, 3-2.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Toronto manager Jim Burns. "The effort was great."
