Industrials Suffer 1-0 Road Loss
|
The St. Louis Explorers got great pitching from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Trout, allowing them to bump off the Pittsburgh Industrials, 1-0. Trout picked up the win for St. Louis, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Bernie Tate locked down his 3rd save.
The Explorers got a big boost from right fielder Gary Parker who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Industrials hurler Jeff Munoz. It was his 6th RBI of the season and put St. Louis on top, 1-0.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Trout.
Pittsburgh, with the loss, is still a hardy 11-4.
