The New York Knickerbockers locked up a win at Knickerbocker Stadium, knocking off the Cincinnati Packers, 3-2. On the mound for New York was right-hander Vern Gould. He played a major role in the triumph. After today's action, New York sits at 70-73, while Cincinnati falls to 62-80.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when New York first baseman Bob White, facing Alex Fonseca, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Knickerbockers the 3-2 win.

White told a New York Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
