Drillers Win 5-4 Nail-Biter Versus Habitants
The Drillers earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 10 innings at Sam Houston Field. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Montreal pitcher Rich Barron. Barron went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Rick McStay picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-2. Hervé Lelièvre, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in holds with 7, was tagged with the loss. Houston has now won 3 straight, while the Habitants have lost 4 in a row.

The Drillers got a clutch hit from left fielder Randy Barnes. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Drillers.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Barnes.
