5 Hits for Seagulls Tapia
|
Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit ones are a whole lot rarer. It happened at Mission Field when Bobby Tapia of San Francisco scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Dallas Wranglers.
He went 5-for-5 in a career performance to help the Seagulls get by the Wranglers, 12-2. The right fielder was in a talkative and jovial mood after the game, saying his swing "was really, really there today."
"I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens, good things happen," he said. "You know, like going 5-for-5. I could get used to days like this."
Bobby Tapia singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and doubled in the 7th.
This season, Tapia is batting .325 with 12 home runs. He has scored 59 runs and driven in 85.
