Toronto Slaps 8-1 Loss on Atlanta

Atlanta had no answer for Toronto Hurons hurler Bill John, who overwhelmed Generals hitters as the Hurons coasted to victory, 8-1. John yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 13-8. Toronto's record now stands at 67-75, placing them 5th in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
In the top of the second, John had a run-scoring double for Toronto. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Hurons on top, 2-1.
"Bill is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
