Baltimore Lords starter John Gannon pitched a good game to help his team take down the Detroit Wolverines, 3-1. The 6th-place Wolverines have lost 4 consecutive games.

The Wolverines had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Lords going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old first baseman Danny Fierro came to the plate. Fierro hit a solo home run on a first pitch curveball from Detroit hurler Larry Black. It was Fierro's 11th home run of the year.
