Blockbusters Slip Past Bulls, 6-2
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Los Angeles-Kansas City ballgame.
The Los Angeles Blockbusters defeated the Kansas City Bulls, 6-2, at Independence Field. Leading the charge for Los Angeles was center fielder Melvin Perez. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The 6th-place Blockbusters hiked their record to 64-80.
Los Angeles took a 3-2 lead on Wayne Baker's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Baker hit in the top of the eighth, left Kansas City pitcher Dennis Greenlee visibly frustrated.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Baker.
