Riojas Slugs Drillers to 8-7 Win
The Houston Drillers beat the Boston Terriers by a score of 8-7. Houston second baseman Manny Riojas deserved the lion's share of the credit. Riojas was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Drillers. Lonnie Keenan recorded his 1st save for Houston. The win lifted the Houston record to 75-68.

Jackie Frost had a clutch at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth for the Drillers. Coming up with the bases loaded and Houston trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Riojas told the Houston Daily News.
