Eagles Get One-Run Win at Brooklyn
Eagles left fielder Alan Cassill left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Brooklyn Bluebirds. Cassill went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Washington in the contest. Pedro Nunez picked up the win, improving his season record to 12-15. He struck out 1 in 6 innings. Curt Kirkley, credited with the save, is now 13 for 15 in save opportunities.

Cassill had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Jorge Sandoval, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Eagles a 6-5 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Cassill.

"It was a solid team effort," said Cassill after the game.

Washington, with the win, sits at 48-95.
