|
Detroit got a strong outing from Jim Bryant as the Wolverines defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 5-1, at Wolverine Field. Bryant, now 8-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Now 58-86, Seattle has dropped 10 games in a row.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from first baseman Troy Stallings. For the game, Stallings went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Detroit a 2-0 lead.
