Drillers Tack 6-0 Loss on Pobladores
|
Right-hander Francisco Castro mesmerized the Los Angeles Pobladores while leading the Houston Drillers to a 6-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Castro, now 11-10. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Houston is 80-64 and Los Angeles, with the loss, 76-68.
Houston third baseman Wade Fields contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 123rd hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.
"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Drillers manager Jared Placeholder.
