Industrials Hand St. Louis 3-1 Loss
|
Pittsburgh Industrials starter Ron Winder turned in an exceptional performance against the St. Louis Explorers at Allegheny Field, resulting in a Pittsburgh win, 3-1. With the loss, St. Louis sinks to 7-7.
Don Keough, who led the NBL in extra base hits with 77 in 1972, chipped in a solo home run for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Ron is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
