Eagles Beat Brooklyn, 1-0
|
The Washington Eagles eked out a 1-0 win versus the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Monument Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Bob Viola. He was terrific. After today's action, Washington sits at 66-77; Brooklyn slips to 58-85.
The Eagles got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Ed Laub. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Eagles.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Viola after the game.
