Northmen Top Hawks, 2-1, Behind Gibson
|
The Twin Cities Northmen did just enough to secure a victory over the Chicago Hawks, 2-1, at Twin Cities Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Joe Gibson. The Hawks, at 80-65, have lost 4 in a row.
Gibson was in the zone all game. He frustrated Chicago hitters while giving the Northmen 7 innings of quality work. Gibson threw 79 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 4 punchouts.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Gibson.
