Lords Take Down Empires, 6-5
The Baltimore Lords defeated the New York Empires, 6-5, at Seton Hill Stadium. Baltimore right fielder Clinton Groce had a superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Baltimore reliever Danny Coleman picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Larry Stanford was saddled with the loss. With the win, Baltimore pushed its record to 80-65.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Baltimore second baseman Jim Pavlik, facing Larry Stanford, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lords the 6-5 win.

"The house was rockin'," said Groce.
