Lords Suffer One-Run Loss at Toronto
|
Toronto turned a good performance from starting pitcher Gary Marshall into a 3-2 triumph over the Baltimore Lords at Dominion Field. Marshall got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Al Earner recorded his 2nd save for Toronto.
Toronto right fielder Danny Bleicher helped the Hurons go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Bleicher hit a run-scoring single off Baltimore pitcher Dan Valenti.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Toronto manager Jim Burns said.
The Hurons raised their record to 57-87.
