The Atlanta Generals picked up a win at Atlantic Station Field, knocking off the New York Empires, 4-3. On the mound for Atlanta was right-hander Bill Davis. He played a key role in the triumph. Davis, now 10-14, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Davis told the Atlanta Bulletin. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
