New York Empires starter Jack Neenan pitched a strong game against the Montreal Habitants at LaSalle Stadium, leading the Empires to victory, 4-2. With the win, New York raised its record to 83-64.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Miguel Preciado? The 29-year old left fielder Preciado stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New York up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Jack made some big pitches when he needed to," said Empires manager Dan Whiting.
