The Baltimore Lords downed the Boston Terriers, 8-7, at Seton Hill Stadium. The Lords were led by Phil Taraska. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Baltimore raised its record to 81-66.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Baltimore pinch hitter Dick Lyon, facing Mark Gaynor, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Lords the 8-7 win.

Taraska told the Baltimore Citizen: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
