Bell Steers New York Past Wolverines, 4-2
|
The New York Empires picked up a win at Wolverine Field, knocking off the Detroit Wolverines, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jimmy Bell was a big reason why. The Empires sit in 5th place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division with a record of 74-73.
Bell gave New York a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 8.1 innings.
"I thought we played a nice game," Bell told the New York Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
