Habitants Turn Back Generals, 7-6
Atlantic Station Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Montreal Habitants and Atlanta Generals.

The Montreal Habitants weathered an outstanding game by Atlanta first baseman Jerry Downs to topple the Generals, 7-6. Downs hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner in relief was Rusty Hallahan. He is now 1-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Sam Corman recorded the save, his 10th.

Bob Madaras drew 1 walk for Montreal. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Chris Williams. It was his 51st walk of the season.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Madaras.

The Habitants move to 78-70 with the win, while the Generals drop to 60-88.
