Morales goes 3-for-5 to Fuel Burros Offense
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Denver Burros and San Diego Captains.

Guillermo Morales left his imprint on the 7-4 Denver win against the San Diego Captains. Morales, who finished 2nd in the NBL in doubles with 46 in 1972, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Frank Combs notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 11-6. Earning his 22nd save for Denver was Manny Esparza.

Morales had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 curveball from Ed Payne, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Burros a 7-4 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Morales.

"We took home the win," said Morales. "What's not to like?"

The Burros raised their record to 76-73.
