Bluebirds Absorb 1-0 Loss at Quakers Stadium
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Quakers and Brooklyn Bluebirds.
Philadelphia pitcher Fred Harrison did his part in helping his team beat the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 1-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The win puts the Quakers at 86-63, while the Bluebirds drop to 78-71.
The Quakers got a big at-bat from center fielder Ted Schlener. For the game, Schlener went 1-2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 34th double of the season gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead.
Philadelphia manager Jeff Green praised his team's "businesslike approach."
