Habitants Walk It Off for 92nd Win of Season
New York left fielder Tom Glenn had a good game, even if his team did not. The Empires dropped a 7-6 decision to Montreal at LaSalle Stadium. Glenn went 3-3 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Hervé Lelièvre earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 8-5. The Habitants raised their record to 92-57.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jeff Murchison in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Duncan to win the game for Montreal. The home crowd went nuts.

"That's what this team is about," said Murchison, "picking each other up."
