Rich Pedersen, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. Cincinnati is now 63-89, Cleveland 85-67.
John Hembree, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1972 draft, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a triple, while scoring 2 runs.
