Milwaukee Gets 8-6 Win Against Blockbusters
Led by Champ Arkle, the Milwaukee Dairymen defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 8-6. Arkle was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Dairymen. Dan Valenti was the winner. He's now 13-10. The loser was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Ralph Weintraub. Pete Costabile, credited with the save, is now 3 for 6 in save opportunities.

Left Fielder Leon Hughes made an impact for Milwaukee, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Ralph Weintraub in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Hughes went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Arkle, "but we got it done."

The win puts Milwaukee at 80-72 this season.
