Chicago Downed, 5-3, by Blockbusters
|
Starting pitcher Basil Anderson pitched well enough to help the Los Angeles Blockbusters beat the Chicago Traders, 5-3. Anderson, now 11-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The Blockbusters improved their record to 73-80 with the win over Chicago.
In the bottom of the 1st, Los Angeles took the lead on a 2-run single by George Strum. At the time, the Blockbusters were trailing 1-0, but Strum's hit with two outs against Chicago pitcher Jose Mojica put them in front, 2-1.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Chicago manager Larry Link.
