Bluebirds Edge Past Industrials, 5-4
The Brooklyn Bluebirds topped the Pittsburgh Industrials, 5-4, in National Baseball League action at Flatbush Park. The standout performance belonged to Brooklyn pitcher and Jacksonville, Florida, native Dick Conway. Conway went the distance for Brooklyn. He gave up 4 runs on 10 hits. With the win, Brooklyn pushed its record to 77-76.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Brooklyn center fielder Dave Fogarty, facing Roger Long, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bluebirds the 5-4 win.

"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Conway said.
