Atlanta pitcher Chris Williams did his part in helping his team beat the Twin Cities Northmen, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Williams got the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 1 hit and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Williams allowed no runs. Atlanta goes to 63-89, Twin Cities to 64-88.
With Atlanta leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Williams hit a run-scoring single off Twin Cities hurler Charlie Sokol. It was the 6th hit of the season for Williams and put his team ahead, 3-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Williams told the Atlanta Citizen.
