Washington first baseman Armando Landa helped his team beat the Cleveland Bobcats, 7-3. Landa, who led the ABL in RBI with 143 in 1956, went 1 for 4 for the Eagles. The Bobcats, at 78-76, have lost 5 in a row.

Landa had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Joe Clabaugh, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Eagles a 7-3 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Landa.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
