In a tight tilt between the Chicago Hawks and the Toronto Hurons, Kevin Edwards was the deciding factor. The Chicago left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The setback makes Toronto 71-83.

Chicago took a 3-2 lead on Mark Morris's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Morris hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Toronto pitcher Bill John visibly frustrated.

Edwards called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
