Bobcats Topple Knickerbockers, 4-2
|
The Cleveland Bobcats and New York Knickerbockers played an exciting game.
Danny Abril pitched well, but the New York Knickerbockers still lost the game, falling 4-2 to the Cleveland Bobcats at Lakefront Stadium. Cleveland is now 78-77. New York is 75-80.
The Bobcats got a big hit from third baseman Ray Gardner. In the bottom of the sixth, Gardner pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 11th double of the season put the Bobcats ahead, 3-1.
"Bottom line," said New York skipper William Bowen, "we didn't play well enough to win."
