Emeralds Lose Again, 4-3, to Pobladores
|
The Los Angeles Pobladores did just enough to sneak past the Seattle Emeralds, 4-3, at Puget Field. Los Angeles pitcher Mike Lindenberger, in particular, had a standout performance. In 5.1 innings, Lindenberger surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Tony Gregory closed the game out for Los Angeles, earning his 5th save.
Los Angeles used a well-timed hit by Glenn Hibbler to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Seattle manager Mark Velez.
The losses continue to add up for Seattle, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
