Dominant Performance by Frampton in New York Win
|
The game between New York and Atlanta is in the books, despite a little rain.
New York Empires starter Nate Frampton pitched well against the Atlanta Generals at Queens Field, leading his team to a win, 2-1. The save was credited to Tom Duncan, his 9th.
Frampton earned the win to move to 8-13. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 7 and walking 0. The right-hander allowed the Generals few scoring opportunities.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
With the win, New York raised its record to 87-68.
