Wolverines Beat Visiting Empires, 5-1
At Wolverine Field, the New York Empires and Detroit Wolverines were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Detroit Wolverines starter Scott Litwak worked his magic, to help his team defeat the New York Empires, 5-1. The victory gives the Wolverines a record of 86-70.

There was more than one reason the Wolverines beat the Empires, but Litwak's big at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Scott is a gamer," said Detroit manager Alex Wobbema.
