A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Montreal Habitants and Boston Terriers.

Montreal Habitants starter Bob Schar was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Boston Terriers, 4-1. The winner was Schar. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ron Gordon.

Oscar Corte, the 20th overall pick in the 1969 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Corte contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth inning to put Montreal up, 3-0.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Corte.

Montreal leads the American Baseball League Eastern Division by 6½ games.
