The Montreal Habitants locked up a win at Atlantic Station Field, knocking off the Atlanta Generals, 4-2. On the mound for Montreal was right-hander Rich Barron. He played a major role in the triumph. Barron yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-12. Al Johns converted his 21st save in 25 tries.
Jim Foulke had a direct impact on the outcome. Foulke contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Montreal up, 2-0.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Barron.
The win puts Montreal at 81-75 this season.
