Kansas City Bulls starter Mel Hartman was in fine form against the Milwaukee Dairymen at Independence Field, leading his team to a win, 4-2. The win lifted the Kansas City record to 84-73.

Kansas City won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With no outs and Bob Cole on the mound for Milwaukee, second baseman Danny Phillips hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Bulls fans to their feet.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Hartman.
