Bluebirds Edge Quakers, 4-3
|
Brooklyn Bluebirds starter Kevin Wade pitched a strong game against the Philadelphia Quakers at Flatbush Park, leading the Bluebirds to victory, 4-3. The Bluebirds improved their record to 85-73 with the win over Philadelphia.
Brooklyn center fielder Dave Fogarty contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 139th hit of the season and put the Bluebirds ahead, 3-1.
"We were the better team," crowed Fogarty.
