Montreal Habitants starter Lawrence Connor turned in a top-notch performance against the Atlanta Generals at LaSalle Stadium. The result was a win for the Habitants, 6-1. The Generals fall to 5-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1974 season.

Ben Hennie went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Montreal. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Bill Davis. It was his 7th hit of the season.

Hennie attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
