Hurons Suffer 5-3 Road Loss
|
1977 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Toronto Hurons.
The Boston Terriers defeated the Toronto Hurons, 5-3, in American Baseball League action at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Phil Soroka pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran went 1 for 1 with a triple and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Nate Edwards, the winner, goes to 18-4. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6 innings.
With Boston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Soroka hit a fastball from Jim Stevens for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Terriers ahead, 4-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Soroka.
The Terriers bumped their record to 81-77 with this win.
