Emeralds Get Clutch Win Versus Dallas
Dallas got a decent performance from pitcher Dave Young, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Emeralds. Seattle won the Puget Field contest, 5-4. Young threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Seattle goes to 73-87, Dallas to 82-78.

Had Al Link not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Link hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Emeralds.

"We ground out the win," said Link. "That's all that matters."
