Kansas City beat San Diego on the strength of starting pitcher Skip Carter's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Carter yielded 3 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 8-16. The Bulls improved to 70-92.
