Bryan Excels in 8-1 Pittsburgh Win
|
Hillyer Bryan was instrumental in his team's 8-1 triumph over the St. Louis Explorers. The first baseman went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Pittsburgh Industrials. Dennis Visco, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 3-1. The Explorers drop to 8-9 and continue their mediocre start to the 1967 season.
Early in the game, Bryan had a solo home run for Pittsburgh. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Industrials on top, 2-1.
"I like the roll we're on," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
